What's On in Stoke Poges

A talk by Richard Emerson featuring the childhood memories of many local people.

Cost: £2 for visitors and free for members.

A chance to meet others who are living with the loss of a loved one, to chat and support each other in a relaxed, supportive space.

The Annual Parish Meeting is a legal, yearly gathering for all local government electors in a parish, not just council members, aimed at reviewing the past year’s work. It acts as a community forum for residents to discuss, ask questions and raise ideas regarding local issues with their council. The meeting is an opportunity for the council to report on its activities and for residents to engage.

This project is a collaboration between Stoke Poges Parish Council, Carers Bucks, Threeways Surgery and NHS Buckinghamshire. Guest speakers and workshops will be planned monthly and there will be an opportunity to speak confidentially if preferred.

The story of India's greatest hero. It describes his life, and then examines his broad spectrum of beliefs before going on to give a critique of what he did – both supporting him and criticising him.

Featuring guided walks every half an hour, a plant stall, and refreshments.

A talk by award-winning photographer Tom Way, focusing on various wildlife hotspots around the world which he has been fortunate enough to visit to photograph amazing wildlife in their natural environments. Tom describes his adventures photographing penguins in The Falklands, orangutans in Borneo, blue whales in Sri Lanka and his biggest passion of all - the big five in Africa.

The WI offers friendship, community support, educational opportunities, new activities and fun. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month, 2.15pm - 4pm at Stoke Poges Village Hall.
